Florence
Florence is Italy's artistic capital and a few words could not explain such a beauty.
The town is not easy for people with reduced mobility expecially because paving is often uneven and side-walks are narrow; but due to the years 2000 Jubileum the town is improving the accessibility.
Florence has not underground lines but some of the buses of the public transport system are accessible to wheelchairs by a special ramp.
Accessible taxis are not available.
We suggest to travel with an ablebodied companion.
Santa Maria Novella railway station is accessible from Piazza Adua and there is an accessible WC inside. Other accessible public toilettes are in Piazza Indipendenza or in Via Cavour 1 c/o Amministrazione Provinciale (1st floor) or in Via Arcolaio 2/a c/o Public Library and in few restaurants and bars in the city center.
